Medium priced web hosting usually is more reliable. They say "it has less down time." They usually provide better quicker service.
Higher priced services are necessary if you need very reliable hosting, excellent service, and can not afford to be seen as unreliable from having your web site not working.
If you have a lot of people looking at your website, you are likely to have to pay more for the amount of data served from your site.
